Freddy Krueger returns in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another but when they sleep, there is no escape. Jackie Earle Haley stars as Krueger.

With so many new movies coming out in 2010, it's difficult to know which ones are the best, the ones worth paying the ever-increasing ticket prices for. Don't waste your time and money at the theaters before you preview the new movie trailers and read some reviews. I hope you're excited, because I am. Some of the best new movies of 2010 are coming out in February. The first Friday of the month, February 5th, coincides with the release of Dear John, District 13: Ultimatum and From Paris with Love.
Dear John stars Channing Tatum playing John Tyree, a young soldier back home on leave, and Amanda Seyfried playing Savannah Curtis, an idealistic university student who John falls in love with during a spring vacation. John's increasingly dangerous deployments force their relationship to be tumultuous and unsettled, keeping the couple constantly separated.
While only meeting periodically, they keep in contact through a continuous stream of love letters mailed overseas, a correspondence that leads to fateful consequences for the couple. I already envision millions of female fans lining up at the box office falling head over heels for Channing Tatum. No doubt, Dear John will probably be one of the top romance movies coming out in 2010.
District 13: Ultimatum dictates the story of elite police officers Damien Tomasso, played by Cyril Raffaelli, and reformed vigilante Leito, played by David Belle returning to save the notorious District 13, a dangerous ghetto thriving with murderers, drug dealing gangs, and ever increasing violence.
Although the government promises to maintain stability, the state of the district has continued to deteriorate. Corrupt policeman and city officials are planning behind the scenes to stir up civil unrest in District 13, to set up a plan to raze the area and profit from its redevelopment. Damien Tomasso and Leito must work together and combine their skills in martial arts to maintain peace in the area doing whatever is necessary, before nuclear technology backed by corrupt officials annihilates the place. This adrenaline charged sequel takes the death defying action from the original to groundbreaking new heights. Personally, I'm very anxious to see this film. The trailer itself is already one of the best trailers for movies in 2010 I've seen. This will easily be one of the most anticipated new movies coming in February.
From Paris with Love details the enviable life of James Reese, a personal assistant to the U.S. ambassador in France whose real passion is his other life as a CIA operative. Reese simply wants to move up the ladder and see some action. When he's offered his first senior-level mission, he feels godly with good luck, until he meets his partner Charlie Wax (John Travolta).
Wax, a trigger-happy, wise cracker, adrenaline junkie who is in Paris preventing terrorist attacks, leads James on a shooting spree through the underworld of Paris leaving James praying for his office job back. But when James finds he's being targeted by the same group of criminals they're trying to arrest, he realizes there's no way out or back, and that Wax may be his only hope for making it through the next day alive. Indeed, another greatly anticipated movie with an excellent trailer that will probably top the charts as one of the best new movies coming out in 2010.

Hye-ja is a single mom to 27-year-old Do-joon. Her son is her raison d'etre. Though an adult in years, Do-joon is naive and dependent on his mother, and a constant source of anxiety, often behaving in ways that are foolish or simply dangerous. Walking home alone one night down a nearly empty city street, he encounters a young girl who he follows for a while before she disappears into a dark alley. The next morning, she is found dead in an abandoned building and Do-joon is accused of her murder. Thanks to an inefficient lawyer and an apathetic police force, Do-joon's case is quickly closed, but his mother refuses to let this be the end of the story. Trusting no one, Hye-ja's maternal instincts kick into overdrive, and she sets out to find the girl's killer and prove her son's innocence.

Set in a quaint fishing community on the outskirts of New York City, City Island is a hilarious and touching tale about a family whose comfortable co-existence is upended by surprising revelations of past secrets and present day lies. Vince Rizzo (Andy Garcia) is a lifelong resident of the tiny, tradition-steeped Bronx enclave of City Island. A family man who makes his living as a corrections officer, Vince longs to become an actor. Ashamed to admit his aspirations to his family, Vince would rather let his fiery wife Joyce (Julianna Margulies) believe his weekly poker games are a cover for an extramarital affair than admit he secretly taking acting classes in Manhattan. When Vince is asked to reveal his biggest secret in class, he inadvertently sets off a chaotic chain of events that turns his mundane suburban life upside down. Inspired by the exercise, he decides to bring his long-lost ex-con son Tony (Steven Strait) home to meet the family, and it soon becomes clear that everyone including his college student daughter (Dominik García-Lorido), teenaged son Vinnie, Jr. (Ezra Miller), charismatic acting partner (Emily Mortimer) and drama coach (Alan Arkin) has something to hide. A perfect storm of deception, half truths and confusion makes Vince and his family members realize that the truth may not set them free, but it is easier to keep track of than all their well-intentioned white lies

'Angels with machine guns!'...that is how co-writer/director Scott Steward describes the film Legion. And that is how the film has been approached by critics. According to various sources the film could provide what was asked for...but instead of a band of angels with machine guns you find one angel with a machine gun in a war that determines the fate of mankind. Actually the movie should have been a matter of a few seconds, but somehow it managed to drag and last 100 minutes. One would find the film a little funny with absurd ideas and plot premises, but filmmakers know how to present them and keep the audience glued to their seats for that time period plus and asking for more. The featured length movie 'Legion' at 2nd position at the box office chart for its first week is about God's lost faith in humanity. That actually takes place in the middle of nowhere and God sends the Archangel Michael (played by Paul Bettany) to kill the baby that is destined to save mankind otherwise. But Michael disobeys and decides to protect the baby instead and declares that he is giving God what he needs and not what he had asked for. And for his disobedience, God sends his armies of angels to fight this one man army and complete the task which Michael won't let happen.
The occupants of the diner include Dennis Quaid, Charles S. Dutton, Tyrese Gibson, Kate Walsh, Lucas Black, Adrianne Palicki and Willa Holland. Bettany is getting loads of credit for the role though his choice of signing films is known to all. This is his first movie role with an action stud plot. Stewart also took the risk of co-writing the film with Peter Schink who has the writing credit of "Gotham Cafe" an adaptation of a Stephen King novel.
Stewart is known as the visual effect master of Hollywood and he has worked in some previous movies like the The Orphanage, Iron Man, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Thus as expected his director debut would be full of enthralling visual effects that would make the movie more like a video game. But the audience have no qualms as long as he entertains them with his ideas. Overall it is a good movie but it could have been a better piece of work had the plot been a little more closely knit with a bit more flow.
